It has been several months since I have written anything. Life has got a little crazy. I left East Central and enrolled in Franciscan University of Steubenville seeking a degree in Theology. I did one semester, and I needed a break. It felt like I was just mentally drained. I took 12 credits which is 4 classes: Foundations of Catholicism, Scripture and Tradition, Christian Moral Principles and Epic and the Person. The first 2 classes were easy. Mostly just what I call common sense stuff. The last 2 classes were my hardest ones. You would think Ethics and Morals would be simple, but it is so in-depth. I struggled hard in Epic and the Person. Reading 5 books in the span of 14 weeks along with the papers and essays took a toll on my brain. I have decided to take a semester off and recuperate although I am keeping up with topics on my own. I have also had a job change. I quit my local welding job and took a travel welding position. I took a 6-month contract in Pennsylvania. The decision to do so was an extremely hard one to make as I would be leaving the wife and kids back home. However, temporary sacrifices must be made for long term goals to happen. Brittany and the kids will come up in March when the kids get out for spring break, and we facetime and talk as much as we can. I have found a few Catholic churches up here so I’m still able to remain in communion. This time here will also allow me to write more. I have a whole list of topics that I plan on exploring. I have found the local library and received a temporary library card which I am excited about. It not only allows me access to the libraries in the county but also to the state’s online libraries. More posts are coming so stayed tuned, well rather stay alert since one can’t ‘tune’ into an online blog.
